  Mission statement  
Moderna Museet is renowned for its presentation of innovative Swedish and international art since 1958. One of Europe´s finest, the museum´s collection of modern classics spans the entire 20th century up today with pieces by Matisse, Picasso, Dalí, Klee and Rauschenberg to name but a few.
Spain-born architect Rafael Moneo designed the new building that opened in 1998. The museum even has a popular shop and a superb restaurant. Perfectly set in the heart of Stockholm on the inlet of Skeppsholmen, the museum is easily accessible with public transportation.
