My statement

I don’t rely too much on exploring ideas for making art. Intuition can be a powerful tool in evoking ousrselve emotinally and conceptually.Since from the early works to later serials like “ baloon” and “underwater” to current series, I have tried not to make my work pregenant only of concept. I have been always learning how to let my visual language speak more in emotional level.
Being introspective may leave you outside those artists who care about major socail problems and those who lean toward schorlarly excersises,but for me art should primary be individual, then social.
You cann’t always concern yourself with your cultural background to be an interesting artist though Tibetan art recieves interest mainly for being Tibetan, a factor novelty.
So I don’t try my art look Tibetan deliberately,without detesting my immediate surrounding.

Professional history
|
|
1974: Born in Lhasa.
1985-1993: Studied in T.C.V Dharamsala,India.
1999: Having returned to Tibet, started to study art under Tsewang Tashi presently a lecturer at Tibet University in Lhasa.
Solo Shows:
2001: Held first Solo Exhibition in SPHN gallery in Berlin, Germany.
Group shows
1996: Participated in the International Environmental Art performance "Living Water" held at Kyichoe River in Lhasa.
1998: Participated in Lhasa Municipal Art Exhibition.
2002: Held Group Exhibition in Lotus gallery in Kathmandu, Nepal.
2003: Participated in the Lhasa Municipal Art Exhibition and won second prize.
2003. Jointly organized Gedun Choephel Artist guild.
2003.Participated in 3rd China National oil pianting exhibition.
2004.Participated in Tibetan ontemporary Art exhibition held in Peaceful gallery in Santefe, New mexoco.
2005.Participated In Classic to Contemporary:Vision from Tibet an exhibition held in Rossi & Rossi Ltd.and Sweetteahouse Art gallery London,U.K
2006:Paticipated in the Exhibition of “waves on the turquoise lake”:Contemporary Expression of Tibetan art and as penal artist for the syposium on Tibetan contemporary at the Museum of Art in Colarado University, Boulder.
2006.Visitor artist at the Oldenborg Center for presentation on History of Contemporary Tibetan Art.
2006.Participated in Faces of Tibet:contemporary Art from Lhasa an Exhibition in Koenigswinter Germany.
2006.Participated in Lhasa Train:Lhasa artists look at the arrival of train to lhasa in Peaceful wind gallery in Santa fe,Newmexico U.S.A.
2007. Participated in Tibetan Encounter: Tradition Meets Contemporary organised by London-based dealer Rossi & Rossi at the Neuhoff Gallery, New York
2007.Participated in “Inside out” group exhibtion in geduchoephel gallery in Lhasa,Tibet.
