SAGA 2010 New York Print Exhibition
SAGA, the Society of American Graphic Artists, in conjunction with ebo Gallery, is exhibiting a portfolio of works by its Member Artists during the Fall of 2010. The exhibit is intended to showcase the works of the SAGA Member Artists and to coincide with the New York Fine Art Print Week.
SAGA has a rich history. Its origins stretch back to 1915 when a group of printmakers founded the Brooklyn Society of Etchers. The following year, their first exhibit was at the Brooklyn Museum. In 1952 (several names changes later) the Society adopted its present title to reflect the all-inclusive membership which practices a full range of printmaking processes.
Mary Cassatt, Joseph Pennell, John Marin, Childe Hassam and John Taylor Arms were early exhibitors of SAGA. Over the years the membership has included most of America’s foremost printmakers.
Membership in the Society enables artists to show their work in New York City through important exhibitions wit |
