My statement
|
|
I have always needed to use art to express my emotions. Not to paint what they are, but I find that using a brush and paint to make marks on canvas can be a very cathartic experience. The mere movement of the brush and behavior of the paint itself is really interesting, and I enjoy the spontanious element of painting (splashing, colour mixing) the idea i have before i paint is hardly ever what lands up coming out on the canvas.
I often feel like a medium, that is being used by the universe, to express itself and reveal myself.
At the moment I am exploring my subconscious world as a source of inspiration.
Besides my personal need for creative expression, my favorite thing about being an artist is evoking my viewers and experiencing how they respond to my work.
